  • Family trumps work, any day!

    Saturday, October 22, 2011

I have been under the weather for the last 3 days and spent most of my time home with my family. I would never ever trade that for anything. It got me thinking…

Work is just a way to exercise, experiment and indulge in your passion. Having a set time for work during the day is good enough. There is nothing wrong about being madely passionate about work. But, too much of it and you are a slave. You know you are a slave to work when you:

    • start to pull all nighters
    • spend less and less time with the family
    • don’t have time to exercise

The best test is to ask yourself “if I had 2 months to live, what would I spend it doing?”

In fact, Steve Jobs wanted to spend his last moments with his family.

Balance in life is always good. Too much of one thing and you tip off.
