Goodbye Google Reader

So, Google decides to axe Google Reader by July 1st, 2013. Is Feedburner next? ;)
Big deal. Just spend some time and take your feeds to Feedly or these alternatives. I have been using Feedly since a month now and love it.
What did you expect?
Google Reader is free.
Google Reader is NOT Google’s focus area. Adwords is. Google is more of a media company. Their main source of revenue is Adwords so they clearly don’t give a shit about Reader. Though, they should just open source it and give it to the community.
I would be more worried if Google decided to purge Gmail. No, they won’t ever do that :)
This reaffirms my belief in this statement:
Pay for the software you use. They might live longer.
